Netflix bug: Updating payment method
Posted: 28 Jul 2022, 20:27pm - Thursday

I registered my Netflix in New Zealand. So, credit card and mobile number will be NZ. Now, I moved to Australia. I need to update the information. So, I updated my mobile number to Australia. But then, when I update my credit card, it's asking for confirmation code but the form is in NZ! Then keep saying "Something went wrong!" Of course because your form is wrong. Because your form is using NZ form for the mobile confirmation. So dumb!

Don't get me wrong! Both countries have confusing flags. But I do know the difference between the flags. :) Back to the topic. Now, how can update my credit card?

So I contacted Live Chat and their recommendation, deactivate my account! Nice!

Now I have to wait until 27 August 2022 so I can update my credit card. Great! Best system!

Never fly with Jetstar!
Posted: 27 Aug 2020, 23:36pm - Thursday

I booked a flight with Jetstar recently worth $700+. Covid19 hit in Auckland and lockdown to level 3. Jetstar announced that all flights are cancelled. So I ask for refund, they only refund as voucher with a one year expiration. But I rarely fly? Why can't I get my money back!!?

They been air by FairGo but still they insist that they can only give voucher.

I find their resolution bullshit! So don't fly with Jetstar! Lame service! Better fly with Air New Zealand.

Use magnetic field as ship propulsion
Posted: 29 Jan 2020, 9:08am - Wednesday

I am not an astrophysicist nor great scientist but why we, humans, still use chemical or fossil fuel on getting to space and we know that it is not the answer. I am just wondering if animals able to harness the magnetic field, why are we not using earth's magnetic field as/for our ship propulsion. The very problem on getting to space is escaping our gravity. So if we use the magnetic field, I think it will very easy to escape from earth's gravity. Isn't it?

Electricity is also the the primary element to achieve this goal. Somebody keeps telling me that the answer or native source to our flight to space is magnet and electricity. Traveling from A to B with a distance of hundred thousands to millions of lightspeed can be achieved by magnetic equation + amount of electricity or power.

Once we achieve how to escape the gravity by using the magnetic field, this can be applied to any planets. It will be easy to get in and get out to a planet.

So, I think we really need to stop using chemical or fossil fuel and start using the correct element to achieve space flight. If not, we will not progress.

Being Human (TV Series)
Posted: 21 Sep 2013, 5:19am - Saturday
Being-Human-001I love TV series and movies and this will be my first time to comment negatively. So, I've been watching this TV series, BEING HUMAN. Sad to say, its the most stupid plot. The characters' behavior are inconsistent. I really regret buying the Blue-Ray - The Complete Series (Series 1 to 4)  of Being Human. The story sucks. George scream or shouts like a gay. I guess the creator and writer Toby Whithouse really have unstable plots of his story. Totally, I don't recommend this TV series. I find this TV series sucks. Verdict: -Z (Awful)

Railway Hotel in Palmerston North, New Zeleand
Posted: 2 Feb 2013, 2:08am - Saturday
It's been two weeks now in Palmerston North. There's two accommodation that I choose, the Railway and @theHub. At the end, I chose to stay at Railway Hotel at 275 Main street. It is owned by Garry Young, a very good landlord... He always ask my comfort staying at his hotel/hostel/backpackers lodge. The room is excellent and I am satisfied what Garry offered me. He also include the WiFi internet for free of charge and with free car park. Unlike @theHub, their internet will cost you 27$ per week and the car park for 20$ per week. I will just share my experience looking for a place to stay with in Palmerston North. Monday, first prospect was @theHub introduced by my sister's friend and I booked the studio type 200$/week from their website. I visit the next @thHub to confirm if I could transfer on Saturday and they said, they will check the vacancy and the assigned staff that day showed me the room (rm 707 I think) and I saw the size, included furniture, bathroom, bed etc and the staff said its just 200$/week and 4 weeks bond which will cost $800 when I move in. So I came back again to @theHub after two days, they said their computer network is down, they cannot look up my bookings. So I came back again the next day, this droopy eyes staff said all he could offer is the 250$/week and 4 weeks bond (which will cost me 1000$ to move in) then I said if could I check the room. So this other big guy show me the room (703) and when I saw the room, its exactly the same the last room that I saw last few days ago and they said its 250$/week. Back in the reception area, I told them that if they could hold it for me because I'm contacting someone for my finances in my stay in Palmy which I've been contacting my sister if its okay to rent a studio type with a price of 250$/week. But my sister didn't reply and its Friday which I need to move on Saturday. A week before, my sister said they will visit me in Palmy to move me to a better place which I was currently staying at Pepper Tree backpackers. So Saturday morning, I told my sister that she will try to talk the receptionist without me if she can book and move as walk-in. Because I have this feeling this droopy eyes idiot staff @theHub is only good to females. So my sister and her friend talk to the receptionist, and guess what at the end of their negotiation, they offer to my sister that they could find a way that my sister and her friend could transfer or move right away to @theHub with a price of 200$/week! Fuck the @theHub accommodation staff and management! I said to my sister, this staff are shit! And I think they are racist too! So if you're a male Asian and attempt to book @theHub, don't bother to do it. You'll waste your time. They are morons! My verdict for @theHub, Female MANIAC! Next suspected accommodation is the Palmy 31. All I can say, its hard to book or talk to their staff. Their office hours is only 4PM to 5PM and if you are working from 8:30Am to 5AM, you can't catch this staff. When you called them, they will say to book online. And when you visit their website, there's a form but you cannot submit electronically. How dumb that website? They have to fill you up the form then print it and then fax it to them. That's their instruction! What kind of system was that? How hassle that could be for the people trying to book and visit the site. My verdict for this Palmy 31, dumb system! Lastly, Railway Hotel. I just visit the place and meet Garry, talk to him and show me the room, the laundry area, kitchen area and boom! He said, I could transfer right away and the transfer fee is only 2 weeks, the room is 195$/week with bathroom, and 6 weeks minimum stay which I will be staying in Palmy Nth for 3 months and its a good deal. The room includes; large LED HD TV, fridge, microwave, heater and furniture. So I took the room and staying in Railway Hotel comfortably. I am also walking distance to the Warehouse, New World, Asian store, fish & chips store and most of all, near enough to my work place. :) Railway Hotel website: http://www.railwayhotel.co.nz Contact Garry for your accommodation needs in Palmerston North. HowTo: Edel's Hamonada
Posted: 24 Dec 2012, 9:12am - Monday
More than decades, my Mother cooks the Hamonada for us (family) every Christmas and New Year. But this year, I'm not in the Philippines, I'm with my sister (and her husband) here in New Zealand. There's a big difference celebrating Christmas in NZ and somehow, Filipinos here in NZ always miss the way Filipino celebrate the Christmas back in the Philippines. This day, my sister and I are in our own to celebrate the Christmas and New Year and for us, its not complete that we do not have the hamonada. So I cook the hamonada and of course with the guidance of my mother. Here's the steps how to cook the Edel's Hamonada.edels_hamonada Ingredients:
  • 2 - 2.5 kg of Pork (preferably leg part)
  • 0.75 liter of Pineapple Juice
  • 2-3 large onions (either white or violet class of onions)
  • 2-3 garlic
  • 2 packs of Del Monte Tomato Sauce (200g)
  • 1-2 lemon grass
  Procedure:
  1. Put the 2 kilos pork at the casserole and level the water with the height of the meat. Place also the garlic, lemon grass and onions (assumed you already sliced the onions and crushed the garlic. Use only the half mention in the ingredients because you will be needing the rest later on except of the lemon grass). You can also add some pinch of pepper to add some spice.
  2. Ignite your stove, heat it with 75-150 degrees and wait until the pork will be soften, approximately 3-5 hours of heating.
  3. Once the pork was soften, remove the water and all the spices your placed few hours ago. Literally just the pork must remain in the medium;
  4. Then pour the Del Monte tomato sauce together with the remaining onions and garlic. Heat up at the same temperature in step 1 then stir it. Then while stirring, add the pineapple juice slowly, then 2 tablespoon of sugar, 3/4 to 1 tablespoon of salt, and add some pepper in it.
  5. Monitor the meat, be sure all the sides of the meat are evenly immerse in the sauce.
  6. Taste it also from time to time, if taste is still more on pineapple juice, add little salt or sugar nor both sugar and salt until the taste will be sweet and sour with a taste of pineapple.
  7. Approximately about 2-3 hours, when the sauce will be viscosity then the hamonada is cooked.
I think that's it... Serve the Edel's Hamonada every Christmas and New Year! Merry Christmas to all!  Cheers!

Corruption in the Philippines: How to eliminate!
Posted: 11 Aug 2021, 22:57pm - Wednesday

John shared this video to me:

YouTube

This is one of the reason I left from the Philippines. I would say, ALL government officials are corrupt. The future is so dark to become first world country category. Marcos did it but then the corrupt senators put him down and until now Philippines is crawling to poverty.

PH should have tougher punishment or laws, to eliminate these politicians or government officials, PH should execute corrupt people.

Should create a law of the following:

  1. Firing squad execution for severe corruption (over 5 million pesos)
  2. Minor corruption, imprisonment for life (between 1 and 5 million pesos)
  3. Any corrupt or have records cannot run or sit to any government position/role
  4. if the officer caught in corruption, all the family members and 1st degree of the family should be remove from office (if any) and cannot run or sit to any position/role in government

I bet if this will be the law, Philippines will improve significantly. If human rights bump in, come on! Philippines is over populated. Eradicating few evil people is good for the many.

I believe Duterte is trying to lift Philippines, but all the officials surrounds him are just all evil greed and corrupt.

FaceApp, TikTok & COVID19 Vaccine
Posted: 13 Aug 2020, 4:48am - Thursday

Why is it western countries always try to nail down China and Russia?

When FaceApp become popular, Western countries then said its security concern. Russian government will steal your information etc.

When TikTok become popular, Western countries then said its security concern. The Chinese government will steal your information etc.

Yet google, facebook, instagram, twitter have all the information and CIA been mining the data for their own gain and nobody complains.

Now Russia have the COVID19 first vaccine, been all over the news that's it's not safe and so on. Why don't other countries help Russia instead?

Why can't we help each other? Is power and money always control us or our civilation?

HowTo: Leche Flan
Posted: 24 Dec 2012, 2:12am - Monday
How to cook Leche Flan for Christmas/New Year! leche_flanWhats good about it is you don't have to separate egg yolks from the egg whites cause you will be using whole eggs. Just follow the recipe. Ingredients:
  • 4 large eggs (if eggs are small make it 8-10 and 6-8 for medium sized eggs)
  • 1 can condensed milk (same size/quantity sold here in Ph)
  • 1 can evaporated milk (same size/quantity sold here in Ph)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup sugar for caramelizing
Procedure:
  1. In a medium heat place sugar in a non-stick pan and and allow it to melt , (you can also caramelize the sugar on an 8-inch pan) making sure not to burn the sugar as it will taste bitter. Once done transfer it to your molder or if you caramelize the sugar in the molder just remove it from heat and set aside.
  2. Prepare the steamer or you can preheat the oven at 295 degrees. In a bowl combine eggs, milk and vanilla mix well making it homogenous. Strain the flan mixture 2x and finally strain once more using a cheese cloth or any clean cloth to make your flan homogeneous to your caramelize sugar and cover it with aluminum foil (don't cover if you will be using an oven)
  3. When the steamer is ready or already boiling place your flan mixture covered with aluminum foil and steam for 30-45 minutes on medium heat. If using oven, submerged the molder/pan uncovered into a larger pan with water about 1 inch up the sides of of the leche flan pan- aka water bath.
  4. Steam for 30 minutes on medium heat (or bake for about 1 hr at 295 deg F). Its done if a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean or try wiggling it if it wiggles like a jello at the center then its done, if its still watery bake/steam once more.
  5. Once done let it cool before removing from the molder/pan. Enjoy!

DUMP/JUNK/TRASH SOPA/PROTECT-IP

PROTECT IP / SOPA Breaks The Internet from Fight for the Future on Vimeo. Tell Congress not to censor the internet NOW! - fightforthefuture.org/pipa PROTECT-IP is a bill that has been introduced in the Senate and the House and is moving quickly through Congress. It gives the government and corporations the ability to censor the net, in the name of protecting "creativity". The law would let the government or corporations censor entire sites-- they just have to convince a judge that the site is "dedicated to copyright infringement." The government has already wrongly shut down sites without any recourse to the site owner. Under this bill, sharing a video with anything copyrighted in it, or what sites like Youtube and Twitter do, would be considered illegal behavior according to this bill. According to the Congressional Budget Office, this bill would cost us $47 million tax dollars a year — that's for a fix that won't work, disrupts the internet, stifles innovation, shuts out diverse voices, and censors the internet. This bill is bad for creativity and does not protect your rights. Biden on Internet Freedom = Anti-SOPA from Fight for the Future on Vimeo. americancensorship.org Joe Biden filled in for Hillary Clinton at the London Conference on Cyberspace (LCC) on November 1st, giving a speech on the importance of freedom in cyberspace and talking up the importance of freedom on the internet and not regulating the internet. Meanwhile, the Obama Administration stands with congress in full support of H.R 3261, the Stop Online Piracy Act, which would give copyright holders the ability to censor websites on the net. We need to stand up now and let Congress know that they shouldn't mess with the Internet!

My Progression to Senior Software Engineer at Objective
Posted: 13 Oct 2020, 1:51am - Tuesday

In 2012, I was visiting my sister in New Zealand when I decided I wanted to move over there from The Philippines, too. Soon I was working as a PHP/SQL Programmer, developing and maintaining New Zealand’s first end-to-end Building Consenting System, AlphaOne.

I enjoyed it and it was very demanding. I was pretty much solely responsible for managing AlphaOne and had to wear multiple hats in addition to writing code. When AlphaOne was acquired by Objective last year, I felt a really welcome change to my job.

There’s so much support: everything is manageable. My worklife balance has changed dramatically and I now enjoy my weekends without worrying about work, here’s a little bit more about how I got here and what it’s like working at Objective.

My road to Senior Software Engineer at Objective

I graduated with a BS Information Management in 2008 from Xavier University, Philippines. While studying, I freelanced as a desktop application developer (using .Net C# + MySQL) and I mostly wrote web based applications, using PHP or LAMP stack.

After working for a while as a lecturer, I was employed remotely by companies all over the world to do PHP web applications, maintain or build applications and websites, and manage web servers.

Eventually I found myself in NZ on the AlphaOne project. ] With one remote and two on-site developers, we managed to stabilise the system and grow our client base from 2 to 12 in just 3 years.

AlphaOne was acquired by Objective in March 2019 and as the Senior Software Engineer for Alpha One, I love working for Objective! I write code, manage our mail and web servers and am also responsible for developing hybrid mobile applications (a mobile version of AlphaOne), so we can easily maintain and deploy it on the Apple, Google and Windows stores.

How I developed my skills

In 2004, before I knew anything at all about the existence of Facebook, I had a very similar idea. I didn't write the code until 2005 though, when I built my own popular and exclusive social network called Zabyer.

The challenges I faced with it (such as performance degradation, compatibility issues, exploitation and hacking) brought my knowledge up to a commercial level long before I’d even finished university. Then, equipped with that knowledge, I started freelancing, which added to my skills in dealing with customers and clients.

I created another social network in 2008 but I struggled to finance it and realised I really just needed money. That’s when I began working remotely for multiple companies, before finding my job at AlphaOne.

The most important things I’ve learned on my career journey

Probably the most important things I’ve learned over the years are:

  • Working with a legacy system and someone else’s code is hard! But you should learn to appreciate other people’s work because you have the knowledge to improve it.
  • Every developer has their own style, so whoever you’re on a team with, come up with rules you can all agree on. I’ve also learned I should get my teammates involved with what I’m doing instead of making them wait around for my part.
  • When it comes to small-medium businesses, I’ve learned how to balance what a business wants and is capable of, with its customers’ needs. With the information from both sides, I can recommend and easily deliver the output.

How we develop our engineers at Objective

At Objective, our best and well-tested approach is to start off new employees on bug fixing (from easy to hard) and guide them closely. This way, they will learn the project structure, flows and its ecosystem.

I don't tell them all the details, but I do show them how it is done rather than giving a long list of instructions. A visual presentation stays in the mind a lot better. Once they catch up with the other developers, they can be eased into bug fixing and other mixed tasks, like new stuff and best practices.

We like to include our new engineers in research and development as well, to make them excited about new technologies and boost their confidence to do more things. I always listen to their ideas and allow them to explore: I want them to feel like they are truly contributing to a project.

Personally, I’m glad all my hard work has led me here. I love the culture and the energy of this company. To me, Objective is the perfect workplace!

Do you think you have what it takes to become part of our engineering team at Objective? Check our careers page for job openings!

COVID-19

Novel Corona Virus 2019

World Health Organisation (WHO) declared it as pandemic on 12 March 2019.

Rumors circulating that USA made the virus and planted in Wuhan, China. We all know that China and USA are in economic and cyber war for decades. In my opinion, this could be true because there's only two countries that really good at bio-warfare, that's USA and Russia.

On the other hand, USA accusing China that they created the virus so that the world will economically crushed and later China will buy the companies to increase their dominance. Its bold claim but its possible.

But for me, I still wonder why USA is so relax resolving or responding on the outbreak. Every countries affected were already in lockdown but not them. Probably they already have vaccine and wait until to show the world they were the most affected country from the outbreak? But actually they already have the vaccine because they created the virus? Who knows!

Anyway, looking to my birth-country, Philippines, from watching and reading the news, seems the crab mentality and political idiocy still over the top. NPA, UP activists, Dilawans still try to bring down the President Duterte amid of the COVID-19 outbreak. People doesn't listen to the government. Government officials uses their power and abuse it. Even they are tested positive, they break the rules they imposed. The virus is spreading fast and I see no future in Philippines same when I left my birth-country (that's when the corrupt Aquino ruled the country). People are rallying about the community quarantine while the rest of the affected countries around the world were already in lockdown. It seems its not serious for them. People don't understand the severity of the outbreak.

I think Philippines will have a higher deaths at the end of this outbreak. If not, it will be one of the countries that have highest number of deaths.

While in my new home country, New Zealand, I am very happy the Prime MInister Jacinda Ardern take the precautionary step to stop or to flatten the curve. We are on level 4 lockdown in New Zealand. Since my partner is a nurse and only her can see the current picture of the city, Its very disappointing that few people still going out and not staying home. Suppose to be "Stay home, save lives!" I hope the government impose more strict rules, no one will go out unless buying supplies. If citizens will not follow the COVID-19 rules imposed by the Government, this lockdown will take more longer than we thought.

PH: Message to the World!
Posted: 25 Aug 2016, 21:26pm - Thursday
http://dutertenews.com/photos-american-activists-rally-duterte-new-york/ A letter to my friends and family in the US and elsewhere: Thank you for the concern, but you're being misled. (Now, I really want to know who that Filipina is in this group. She looks like the odd person out in a sea of kids. Was she the organizer? Very interesting.) If the President is forcibly removed, please know that you will be doing our country more harm than good. Not only will you leave us a fragmented country, you will also leave us at the mercy of drug cartels which have run this country, and which are so powerful that they have on their payroll judges, politicians, and as investigations are being done now, allegedly the ex-Secretary of the Department of Justice (now Senator) herself. There is also a chance that Mindanao, the second largest archipelago, will secede, and all peace negotiations that have been started between the government and the Communists in our country (the longest insurgency ever), will be halted. There will be little pockets of rebellion, and you will be fomenting resentment for the US among our previously US-loving citizens. We've been staunchly pro US all these years. If you meddle, not a few Filipinos will suddenly find themselves sympathizing, justified or not, with the countries the US has invaded to "save"; to question the wisdom of forcing a foreigner's ethnocentric view on a sovereign state. You don't understand the depth of desperation until you've lived here. The things you hear in the news do not even scratch the surface. We are angry, desperate, and frustrated, and we hope you can see that. It will be back to Third World, most-corrupt-country-ever status for us. Forget about visiting this country too. Right now, there are improvements being done in our airports, only a few years ago considered the World's Worst. You dont want terrorists? Please leave our country alone. Drug money fuels terrorism, and we haven't had a President who could talk to the militants and the rebels like this one could. Some parts of Mindanao have become training ground for future ISIS rebels. To stop this President's war against drug lords and terrorists is to sign your agreement that more powerful terrorist organizations can come to poor, disorganized, US-hating Philippines to harvest more willing bodies. You don't know the scope. No news article has ever summed it up so you could understand the depth and breadth of the Philippines' problems. Please don't let yourselves be used by those who want to wrestle power away from the President of our country, the only man with cojones big enough to take on not just the ruling elite of the Philippines but also international drug cartels. The TL/DR version of why you're being manipulated is this: Rodrigo Roa Duterte was a mayor of Davao City for 20 years. He was forced to run for President by the Filipino people because the choices were dismal. Apart from an alleged corrupt vice president and a newbie senator, he ran against the anointed one named Mar Roxas, who was the previous administration's bet. While the previous administration has its fans, the overwhelming support for Duterte--91 percent--means most people are crying for change. You remember his predecessor? Benigno Aquino III was the President when Typhoon Haiyan happened. Do you remember asking where your donations went? Do you remember hostages from Hong Kong dying in that bus because of bungled operations? Or the news of our country's Special Action Forces dying in battle due to botched, ill-organized operations? That's not even half of it. If you don't know that, I'm sure you know how notorious Manila traffic is. The chief who handled that told us Filipinos not to worry because traffic isn't fatal anyway. (A Japanese firm did say that while we aren't dying, our economy is, as we lose about 3 billion dollars EVERY DAY in the gridlock.) You understand why people did not want Mar Roxas, who by the way, as the interior secretary, was "on top" of the failed Haiyan relief operations. When Duterte came into power, he sought to dismantle the organized crime and corruption that have been the most prominent features of this country. The Philippines is run on patronage politics, and because Duterte was not an insider--he was just a mayor of a far away city, after all--he stepped on as many toes as liberally and with as much impunity, shocking for toes that have never been stepped on. He went after the most untouchable of our leaders: generals, priests, mayors, cabinet secretaries. He also has a dirty mouth--but if you made us Filipinos choose between his dirty mouth, and his rivals' dirty hands, we'd let out a string of curses. And this is why you hear so much bad press about Duterte. Who was it that said, history is written by the victor? In our case, our story is being written by those who have the access and the resources to alter the truth. WHO STANDS TO GAIN MOST FROM DUTERTE BEING IMPEACHED? 91 percent of us can only hope to reach you this way. This guy is 71 years old. He has nothing to lose (except his life, which apparently does not bother him) and everything to gain. He is fighting for the legacy, the bragging rights to say, "I cleaned up the Philippines." What you see in the news, the killings on the streets, is not the handiwork of the government alone. As the President often says, what we're dealing with is not a crisis, but a war. And there will be blood. There is blood not just because of legal police apprehensions, but because the drug cartels are cleaning up after their own. Our policemen are not provided their own bullets--do you think at a salary of 300-400 usd a month, they can afford to go on a killing rampage? Someone is bankrolling it, and it's not the government. I agree that the President needs to make a tougher stand on the killings--he did condemn them but apparently not emphatically enough--and I agree that he needs to be harsher, but if those were his only shortcomings, to call for his impeachment, when he has done so much for the ordinary Filipino, is taking it too far. Here's something to think about: While we are a poor country, Filipinos are known to be a strong, united people. We are not ignorant, we are not stupid, we are highly literate. We have unhampered access to social media, we have scholars and students everywhere. The only times we ever needed saving are the times when our leaders couldnt do it for us, like Haiyan. Since 1986, when we successfully ousted the dictator Ferdinand Marcos in EDSA 1, the Filipino has believed in his freedom and his capacity to change the government. Our bloodless revolutions have become iconic. We ousted one more President after: Joseph Estrada, for charges of graft and corruption on EDSA 2. We also sent one President, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, to "jail." EDSA is a symbol of our freedom and our capacity to THINK FOR OURSELVES. We are highly capable of OUSTING LEADERS we do not want. So if we wanted to oust Duterte, we would be VERY CAPABLE to do it on our own. And it would be hell of a lot easier too. We would have disgruntled oligarchs on our side, and I am sure the drug cartels would even happily fund those who are corrupt in our military to stage coup d' etats. BUT WE DONT. SO MANY OF US DONT! 91 percent of us dont! Because we understand our own internal struggles more than any of you do. To meddle in our affairs is akin to saying you do not trust us to govern for ourselves, which smacks so hard of colonialism. Please, thank you for your concern, and for the aid, but allow us to build our nation the way we think best. There are dissenters, some trolls, but others very brilliant, in our midst. We have oppositions in both Houses, in the Senate and Congress. There is an ongoing Senate hearing on the killings, led quite ironically, by the woman charged of coddling drug protectors herself. WE DO NOT LACK FOR DISSENT. PEOPLE ARE NOT DYING HERE FOR ATTACKING DUTERTE. There is NO dictatorship. The original plan is to impeach Duterte, but because they could not find the support from the Filipino public--actually the opposition is very much reviled in this country, to put it mildly--the threat is to have Duterte dragged to the International Crimes Court. And you have become unwitting characters in a stage that has been set to make this happen. YOU ARE BEING USED IN AN ELABORATE POWER PLAY AND YOU DO NOT EVEN KNOW IT. When and if we are ready to oust Duterte, you will hear about it. As I've said, we can do it on our own. But until then, please respect, please, please LISTEN to the voices of the majority of the Filipino people. Thank you!   --Krizette Laureta Chu

Few years back year 2008, attending World Youth Day 2008 at Sydney-Australia, I met Cardinal Luis Antonio “Chito” Gokim Tagle and that time he was a Bishop and also known as the Bishop of Imus, Cavite. Few weeks ago, when Pope Benedict XVI is about to resign which is uncommon to happen and it was really the first time to happen. So the rumors spread about the resigning Pope and the search of the new Pope has began. Watching the news, I saw a familiar face of the candidates to be a pope but I am not sure because its just a split of seconds and he was just a background. Today at OneNews.co.nz, they featured Cardinal Luis Antonio “Chito” Gokim Tagle that he may be a Pope. Really? If he will be the pope, he will be the first Asian Pope then. Here's the picture with him, of course I'm not in the picture because I am the one who took it. [caption id="attachment_950" align="aligncenter" width="744"]Cardinal Luis Antonio “Chito” Gokim Tagle Cardinal Luis Antonio “Chito” Gokim Tagle with Irra Angela Chiong and friends....[/caption] I just realised that I should have a picture with him.. Hahahahaa.. Cardinal Luis Antonio “Chito” Gokim Tagle is a very good high charisma and wisdom -- very energetic too. He enlightened us all during the catechism. There are 3 priest that time and two made us very sleepy but when Cardinal Tagle's turn as the last preacher, he put spirits to all youth. Awesome! Guide to Migrate in New Zealand as Skilled Migrant
Posted: 26 Dec 2012, 3:19am - Wednesday
I am writing this Guide to help others how to migrate successfully in New Zealand. This guide was based from my experiences on applying in Immigration New Zealand.
  1. Check your skills or profession if its on demand in NZ like the following; Check your skills at the INZ website at http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/skilledmigrant/LinkAdministration/ToolboxLinks/essentialskills.htm?level=1
  2. If your skills are on demand, next is check your qualifications (where your study) if its exempt from the NZQA or New Zealand Qualifications Assessment. Check this INZ section at http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/general/formsandfees/formsandguides/lorq/ --- in my case, I was in Xavier University and it was listed in the Qualification Exempt from Assessment. See your college/school/university if listed at http://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/45793.htm
  3. Your English proficiency is also required to be good enough. If you are listed in the exempt qualifications, ask for a certificate that the entire instructions of your study are in English. Or you can take an exam of IELTS to get an English Proficiency Certificate. Minimum passing of overall bandscore for IELTS is 6.5 for skilled-migrants.
  4. Test your points for Expression of Interest if it pass. Passing points is 100 points. So you should have more than 100 points. But I recommended to get over 120 points. Check your points at http://www.immigration.govt.nz/pointsindicator/
  5. If your test points are over 120 points, you should apply for the EOI (Expression of Interest). But before you apply for EOI, list down all your work experiences, educational attainment etc. Collect also all certificates from work experiences, qualifications etc.
  6. If all set, apply for EOI. Apply online at https://www.immigration.govt.nz/secure/default.htm -- be sure you have credit card or prepare a bank check/cheque for the INZ EOI fees. Or check the fees at http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/general/formsandfees/officeandfeescalculator/LinkAdministration/ToolboxLinks/officeandfeescalculator.htm?level=1 -- in my case was I think its 480 NZ$.
  7. Now review your application 10 times or more. Just making sure its accurate. Note in your application, if your skills are in demand, get the ANZSCO number/title and demand level at http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/general/generalinformation/anzsco
  8. Once its lodged, wait till you will be pull from the pool. Immigration New Zealand (INZ) will mail (snail mail) you if you will be invited to apply residency in NZ. In my case, I applied inside NZ, after 2 weeks I got a reply. But I guess if its outside NZ, it will probably take a little bit more longer. Especially in the Philippines that our courier post are corrupt and the service is the poorest among all courier post in the world.
  9. If you received the invitation to apply residency then Congratulations! The door of opportunity in NZ is open for you. Next you will need to lodge your application usually within 4 months. So since you collected already your certificates, the lacking will be the bank cheque and medical certificates.
  10. Ask for enquiry in your local New Zealand Immigration/Embassy what hospitals are valid or authorize for the general medical and X-ray certificate for INZ. Download the form at http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/general/formsandfees/formsandguides/healthcharacter.htm -- you need to download the General Medical Certificate and Chest X-ray Certificate.
  11. Last certificate will be the NBI clearance certificate. To be sure, get also a Police Clearance certificate. You need to submit not more than 6 months old NBI/Police clearance certificates.
  12. Okay, its all set.. Lodge your application. I think the cost is 1810 NZ$. Please check the fees online at INZ website (#6) to be accurate.
  13. After few weeks, they will email you that they received your application. Assigning to Immigration Officer will take 16 weeks. Processing for the residency visa will take approximately 4-9 months.
I think that's all..Easy or what? Hehehe.. Good luck to your application and hope this will help a lot. Note:
  • If you do not have enough experience but you a got a high points like more than 130 points, they will give you OPEN work visa. Then probation of 6 months, after 6 months or within 6 months that you already got the job related to your skills, INZ will grant you residence visa. This note is based on my enquiries from friends in New Zealand.
Why migrate to New Zealand?
  1. Great benefits! Libre daw manganak sa hospital. So pwede ka birada pirme diba? hehehhe..
  2. Money Benefits for the children. Lamsam daw tawag, not sure. but sounds like lamsam.
  3. Study first, pay later diri ang University.
  4. Daghan paman.. wala palang ko kabalo.. hahahhaa..
Hopefully soon I will have my resident visa... Wish me luck.. I am still on the process on getting the PR visa.

My co-worker sent me a link and found it very true of most of the employers in Online Jobs. They maltreated Filipinoes as their virtual assistant, they want to do everything and finish it in a day or hour or a second. And I found it as stupidity tasks coz we are not Superman! I would like to re-post this good article by John Jonas.
When it comes to outsourcing your business (or yourself!) to the Philippines, there’s definitely a learning curve. Here are 7 ways you can guarantee failure for yourself : (Hint: Don’t do these things!)

1. Try To Hire Someone To Do Everything

Here’s an actual email I got this week So wait…you want a programmer, graphic designer, webmaster, who is fluent in english and likes to write, who can write sales copy, autoresponders, forum posts, ebooks, and reports. Oh yeah, sure, let me help you find that person! Oh wait, that person doesn’t exist. Hire someone to do a specific task! Then train them to be able to do everything.

2. Hire A Project Manager

Filipinos don’t know how to run your business for you. Don’t try to hire a project manager first along with 6 others, and expect that “project manager” to manage those other 6 and get things done. They don’t know how. YES! They’re very capable of being project managers, but very rarely will you find someone who has been involved in enough internet business that you can just turn a project over to them and have them manage other people for you. Eventually…yes! After you’ve trained them and they’ve seen how the business is supposed to work.

3. Hire Someone And Ignore Them

You have to train the person you hire. They don’t know how to run your super-niche internet marketing business. Don’t expect to hire someone and just let them go do everything themselves. Expect to spend some time working with them.

4. Ask Someone To Do Work Before You Offer Them A Job

This is my favorite. I get an email that says
Can you please tell me why I can’t successfully hire someone, they all keep disappearing. Here’s the email I send them: I want you to start by doing a trial task. Write 20 articles, submit them to article directories, do a bunch of directory submissions for me, build me a website and write all the content for it. Then, I’ll evaluate your work and see if it’s going to work out.
hahahahaha. Yeah right! They’re not going to do work until AFTER they know they have a full-time job working for you. Don’t give them a test task. Give them a job. Tell them the first month is a probationary period.

5. Expect Immediate Results

This is a long-term proposal here. I’ve been doing it for 4 years. You’re not going to see the same results in 4 days. Don’t expect it.

6. Search and Search and Search For The Right Person, Then Email Them

Hey John, I searched for 3 days and I found the perfect candidate. They can do everything you said wasn’t possible back up in #1 on this blog post. Why won’t they respond to me?
Why? Because they already have a job and they’re loyal to their current employer. Instead of trying to find the perfect person up front, try contacting 20 potential fits, see who responds, then sort through them.

7. Set The Wrong Expectations

When you hire them, don’t tell them you expect them to be totally self-directed and to work without supervision and to be able to figure everything out on their own. If you do, you’ll never hear from them again. Try telling them
I expect you to try to figure things out, but I understand that I’m going to give you tasks that you won’t know how to do, and sometimes there won’t be any way to figure it out. In these cases, please know that I’m here to answer your questions. I’m here to help you. Please don’t hesitate to ask me when you get stuck.
Otherwise, when they don’t know how to do something they get embarrassed and will never talk to you again. If you set the right expectation with them about asking for help, they’ll ask, you’ll help, and all will be happy and good. These aren’t hard things to avoid…you just have to know about them to avoid them. There’s more good stuff like this as a member of ReplaceMyself.com.
